The benefits of Radiology do not end after production of radiograph (processed x-ray film).

After sometime (usually 5 years and longer), when the radiograph is not needed anymore, it can be processed again to recover the silver that these radiographs contains.

Based on the study from the video, silver ions that can be recovered can actually be turned into silverwares/jewelries.

Jewelries and other accessories made from this, contain much more silver concentration compare to sterling silver(92.5%), which are commercially available. Furthermore, the cost is also less plus the fact that it can save our environment from additional toxic waste disposal (if we improperly dispose these radiographs after use).
