Shoulder Arthrography
- is performed for the evaluation of either partial or complete tears in rotator cuff or glenoidal labrum or frozen shoulder.
a. single-contrast shoulder arthrography
- 10 or 20 ml positive contrast medium is injected.
b. double-contrast shoulder arhrography
- 3 to 4 ml positive contrast medium and 10 to 12 ml of air is injected.
* The images most often taken are AP( both internal & external rotation), 30
degree AP oblique of affected side, axillary and intertubercular groove position.
> Performance of double-contrast shoulder arthrogram patients may be examined using computed tomography with images taken at 5mm through Shoulder joint.
